There are a paltry few “prerequisites” to be considered one of YABookBridges’ Badass Authors. The qualifications are as follows:
A) The author must respond to tweets.
B) S/he writes a hella good story. It must make the reader laugh or cry or cuss or all of the above. In addition, it must make one immediately call/text/email/tweet other Book Nerds to tell them they must read it IMMEDIATELY.
C) S/he does something unexpected or particularly powerful or inventive in the book. We teachers/bloggers are a stoic bunch. Particularly those of us that teach middle school: it is difficult to surprise or shock us, much less make us cry. If said book does any of these things, the author is indeed a Badass.
These folks are the authors who have earned the title of YABB Badass Author thus far.
